One appeal of mom and pop resorts has been the low tech, old school nature of it all. Walk where the WiFi is weak or go jump in the lake. Most of the operations ran that way. You checked in at the store upon arrival, we walked the beach and talked with you, we handed out paddles and popcorn. Friday night payment was a social affair where we talked probably longer than we should.
Things such as this are all going to be challenging this summer.
This webpage is part of the answer. This will be your source of information and your best method to contact us.
Let’s walk through booking a stay through driving away.
Booking is now done on-line. Sure, you can still call, but all Patty will do is pull up the website and book it for you. You can do that all from your smart phone if you want.
Deposit payment will primarily be through Square invoices. When patty sets up the deposit, you will receive an invoice with a payment button in it. You will be able to pay on-line just like you do with Amazon or other merchants.
Check-in will be digital. You will receive an e-mail with instructions. Your cabin keys will be hanging in your cabin.
The store will have no hours. We will have bait, clothing, and most of those things we always did. We will deliver anything to your deck within a reasonable time. If you want to browse the sweatshirts ( and we ordered a lot this year), we will come down and open the store for one family at a time.
Checkout, like the deposit, will be an e-mailed invoice on the last day of your stay and will be paid through Square. Payment is due before you leave.
So as you can imagine, you won’t see us as much this summer. That is not our desire, but is for your safety. If we mingle with every guest as we have in the past, then we may end up a carrier. Any time we are near you, we will have a mask and stand our distance. It will be difficult, but for this summer, we think it best.
Stay safe - Gary & Patty
