Welcome to May during this upside-down, inside-out year. Maybe it’s the weather, but it does feel a little bit like the world is finding a sense of ground. Well, maybe more like lake muck, but at least there’s a concerted effort to define expectations going forward and some things are being worked out. As expected, the Governor extended the Minnesota shelter in place order past fishing opener. And at the same time, I think he established some rules about how to go fishing. That’s about as consistent as saying resorts never closed, but their customers weren’t allowed to go there. So he’s as conflicted about this situation as the rest of us.
Before we get into specific changes, we think it would be useful to have a sense of general expectations and process.
As I wrote in my first post, this forum will be a tool for dialog, questions, answers, and temporal information. I think it’s best done in a community so that others can find answers quickly and Patty and I can focus on getting the resort ready for your arrival.
We will maintain a current set of information and expectations. The purpose will be threefold.
To ensure you are aware of our actions to maximize your safety.
To ensure you are aware of our expectations of you to stay safe and keep others safe.
To ensure we comply with state health guidelines.
We expect that prior to your arrival, you will acknowledge that you have read and understand the information provided to you. Gary will provide a digital way for you to do that. Information changes constantly these days and therefore our answers will likely change as well. We operate on weeks, so for example, something we implement for Memorial Weekend may prove unhelpful or unnecessary. In that case, we will change it for the weeks following. And we’ll take this journey together one day at a time.
