The town of Alexandria is fifteen minutes away and has a shopping mall and your choice of may fine restaurants. The downtown area boasts a wide assortment of specialty, antique and gift shops. There are amusement parks and stock car races every weekend. Alexandria also has a 7-screen movie theater, 2 performing arts theaters, an indoor waterpark and is home to the historical Runestone Museum.
